South Dakota Pheasant Hunting
For more than 25 years, Double K has been offering guided pheasant hunts near the
Gregory, Dallas, and Winner areas of south-central South Dakota.  Thanks to our
"for the birds" style of farming, our
pheasant hunting is always excellent.  In late
Spring, our land literally becomes a "
pheasant factory" with over-confident roosters
showing off their mating colors and sounding off until dusk.  A few weeks later,
thousands of hens navigate their 10 or 12 chicks through the gauntlet of John Deere
tractors planting food plots and cutting hay.

The picture to the left is a sight you can never get tired of.  These "machines" will
be one of the most important & enjoyable aspects of your pheasant hunt.
We also
encourage you to bring your own dog/s
.  There's no better place for an upland
bird hunting dog than the fields of South Dakota.
Rudy retrieving a rooster pheasant
If you're not able to bring your dog or you don't have one, you will definitely enjoy
watching and working ours.  We don't even mind if they retrieve a few roosters to
you.  On many of our hunts, we'll hit a field where so many birds are dropping that
our guides can't carry them all.  And of course, there are those fields where no birds
are dropping.....
a certain Florida group comes to mind.
Our labs are in the field at a very young age, and when a 6-month old puppy
brings you the rooster you just shot...you won't soon forget it.
Other South Dakota & Nebraska hunts offered by Double K...
SOUTH DAKOTA PRONGHORN ANTELOPE HUNTING
A South Dakota antelope hunt is an experience that rarely gets the credit it
deserves, especially archery.  Our pronghorn hunts are located just north of the
scenic Black Hills of SD.  Sturgis, Mt. Rushmore, and the infamous Deadwood are all
within a short drive.  A combination of beautiful old-west scenery, great antelope
hunting, and unbelievable "characters"...you will have plenty of hunting stories to tell
your buddies after this hunt.
Merriam Turkey Hunting in South Dakota
SOUTH DAKOTA & NEBRASKA MERRIAM TURKEY HUNTING
And some quality R&R in a small-town atmosphere
Double K is well-known in the world of archery turkey hunting.  We take in 65+
archery hunters every Spring and come close to a 100% success rate every year.  If
a bowhunter doesn't get a turkey, it's not from a lack of opportunities.
SOUTH DAKOTA WHITETAIL HUNTING
Our whitetail hunts are located in the same areas that we pheasant hunt (near Dallas & Gregory).  Many of our whitetail deer
hunters combine their trips with their South Dakota pheasant hunt.  This combination hunt is very popular among those
hunters that like to hunt all day.  Whitetail in the morning, pheasant hunting during mid-day, and then back out in the late
afternoon for some more deer hunting action.  You also get a lot of bang for your buck on this trip. ($2600 for 5 days)
SOUTH DAKOTA MULE DEER HUNTING
The majority of our South Dakota mule deer hunts are located in Harding County, in northwestern South Dakota. (we offer a
few mule deer hunts near our pheasant hunting areas by Gregory & Dallas, SD) The terrain is truly unique and will remind you
of an old western TV program.  If you are a bowhunter, you can do a combination archery deer and archery antelope hunt.
These combination hunts are limited in number, so please contact us ASAP if interested.
PRAIRIE DOG HUNTING
Prairie dog "hunting" is about as much fun as you can legally have.  All of our prairie dog hunts are located on the Rosebud
Indian Reservation.  The reservation is full of these little varmints, and if you want to shoot from dawn to dusk, that is fine
with us.  One thing that makes us laugh, every time we go on a dog shoot, is how some environmental groups claim that
prairie dogs should be placed on the endangered species list.  One trip to South Dakota, and you too will see how ridiculous
that claim really is.  The reservation is the
best place to shoot prairie dogs.
Double K Guide Service has been in the business a long time.  We sincerely hope you will come
out to South Dakota and see why we are such a popular destination for
pheasant, antelope, turkey, deer, and prairie dog hunters.
Good dogs are priceless on SD pheasant hunts.
We encourage you to bring yours.
Need proof that we have a ton of birds?
Phil Blott gets his limit...enough said.
South Dakota Antelope Hunting
Like our pheasant hunting trips, we recommend booking your archery antelope hunt
as soon as possible.  We book about 20 or so
archery antelope hunts per year, and
with the exploding popularity of this trip, spots fill very early.  For a rifle antelope
hunt, you will need to apply through the state, and it usually takes two years to
draw a rifle tag. (archery tags are basically guaranteed but must be applied for)
Double K has been featured on Double Bull Outdoors, Bowhunter Magazine TV, and
many other outdoor shows.  Our reputation and success rates speak for themselves.
Over the past few years, we have begun offering turkey hunts in Nebraska.  We are
located 20 miles north of the Nebraska border, so we can offer both SD and NE
Merriam's hunts out of one camp.  This gives you the opportunity to harvest more
than one bird on your
South Dakota turkey hunting trip.
